Dr Emily Lewis, Labskin UK & Sheffield Hallam University KTP
The team from Labskin UK wish to extend their warmest congratulations to Dr Emily Lewis for the recognition she recently received for her paper written during her tenure as KTP Associate with Labskin UK and Sheffield Hallam University.
The paper is titled “Examination of the skin barrier repair/wound healing process using a living skin equivalent model and matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization-mass spectrometry imaging”. (Int J Cosmet Sci. 2018 Apr;40(2):148-156. doi:10.1111/ics.12446).
On the 3rd October 2019, Dr Lewis attended the Society of Cosmetic Sciences (SCS) Lecture and International Journal of Cosmetic Science Awards Ceremony held at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London, UK. In attendance alongside Dr Lewis was Professor Malcom Clench, Head of Research for the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre of Sheffield Hallam University.
On the evening, Dr Lewis gave a presentation on her career to date and the work that led up to her award-winning paper. The work was carried out as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Labskin UK and Sheffield Hallam University, and Dr Lewis was employed as the KTP Associate on the project.
After her presentation Dr Lewis was presented with a trophy and cheque by Professor AV Rawlings, Visiting Professor from UCL School of Pharmacy and the President of SCS Mary Lord Senior Vice President at Oriflame Research & Development.
